UNITE Stapleton House, Refurbishment

LONDON, UK

Client

UNITE Student Accommodation

Completion

November 2024

This major refurbishment in London focuses on the adaptability of large-scale amenity spaces. By using a strategic furniture palette and intelligent zoning, the design creates a sense of privacy within an expansive footprint.

The centerpiece is a contemporary Crittall-screen "box" housing the gaming area, which is adjoined by a dramatic, full-height green wall.

On the ground floor, a second Crittall enclosure provides an intimate study retreat at the rear of the building, accented by slender black desk columns. Seating booths in olive green and burnt orange provide a bold visual contrast, while repolished concrete columns reflect the soft color palette of the room.

At the entrance, timber slat structures create cozy meeting nooks, leading to a breathtaking reception desk featuring signature architectural lighting.

The first floor is defined by a large, sweeping bench that optimizes views of the external courtyard. Seaside-inspired seating and timber accents create a light, airy environment, supported by a newly refurbished meeting room with integrated storage.
