It was our privilege to be awarded the contract to design state of the art clean rooms for our client at their highly sophisticated satellite production facility in Guildford, Surrey incorporating extensive laboratories to deal with the sensitive nature of the Companies Projects.
Our clients brief required Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson Limited to complete the design and implementation of the project to exacting standards involving extremely intricate planning requirements in response to the complex pressures brought about by the assembly, integration and testing of commercial satellites.
SSTL is the commercial wing of Surrey Universities Space Centre, a world leader in satellite design and manufacturing. Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson were commissioned for the design and implementation of the project which provides 3,700sqm (40,000 sqft) of accommodation including testing halls, with two 125 cubic metre walk-in thermal chambers, a seismic test platform and various specialist cranes. Due to the large 3 storey space, the assembly hall can accommodate a wide range of spacecraft.
Over a two year period Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson Limited worked closely with our Countries leading Rocket Scientists to provide a highly secure world class facility for Surrey Satellite Technology Limited which has led to our involvement on other leading projects for the Company.
