We are looking for a passionate structural engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson.

As a practice we have a strong reputation for innovation, sustainability and the implementation/delivery of large, complex buildings and as such are well placed to offer a wide range of opportunities and experience.

The role is a full-time position working from our contemporary offices within a Grade II listed building near the popular Ecclesall Road area of Sheffield, it is an opportunity to be part of a friendly, collaborative team in a progressive company.

Key responsibilities:

The role is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging engineering projects from conception to completion, and gain experience in a wide variety of engineering tasks. Day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:

• Analysis and design of building structures (steel, concrete, masonry, timber).

• Preparation of structural calculations, specifications, and technical reports.

• Site inspections and structural appraisals.

• Working collaboratively with other team members and construction professionals.

Experience:

Interested candidates should possess the following skills and attributes:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Strong understanding of structural engineering principles.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in analysis and design of building structures using hand calculations, spreadsheets and software.

• Experience in finite element analysis software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer).

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Multimillion-pound new build precast concrete framed engineering precinct for prestigious UK university.

• Extension and refurbishment schemes for leading provider of student accommodation including high-rise buildings.

• New build convenience supermarket for a major UK retailer.

• New build industrial development including 6,000m² steel framed warehouse.

• Multi-storey new build care home in load bearing masonry.
