The development has benefited from a £38million investment towards its refurbishment. There were significant alterations made to the outer shell of the building for fire safety improvements, as well as a complete internal rework that created a new common space with a gym, cinema room, and study areas. As part of the work, 14 new beds were added, bringing the total to 754.

Parkway Gate is a modern and vibrant student accommodation complex, located in the heart of Manchester. Situated in a key location next to The Mancunian Way only a few minutes' walk from both Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Manchester campuses.

The refurbishment process for Parkway Gate places a primary focus on safety, incorporating significant alterations to the building's outer shell to enhance fire safety measures and ensure the well-being of the residents. Sustainability was a central consideration in the refurbishment, with a deliberate focus on incorporating modern technologies and materials. As part of this commitment, new air source heat pumps and energy-efficient windows were installed throughout the property, enhancing its environmental performance and reducing its carbon footprint in the aim to become net zero by 2030.

Parkway Gate is made up of three residential buildings that following the refurbishment works offer a maximum of 754 student rooms. In addition, there is retail space located on the ground floor. The towers have varying heights, ranging from 14 to 18 storeys, and are connected through a shared ground floor.

The architecture of Parkway Gate responds to the new and contemporary construction work in Manchester city centre and its immediate surroundings. With a focus on creating functional living spaces that meet the needs of modern-day students. The building is designed to provide a range of living options, from en-suite rooms that offer a private bathroom but shared kitchen, to studios with private kitchens.

In addition to its functional living spaces, Parkway Gate offers a range of new and high-quality amenities for residents. The common room includes a pool table and TVs, while the fully equipped gym, karaoke room, dedicated video games room, and cinema room provide ample opportunities for socialising and relaxation.

The student accommodations interior spaces are designed to provide a comfortable and practical living environment for students. The workspaces are well-lit and spacious, with plenty of room to study and work collaboratively. The courtyard area formed by the three surrounding towers offers a peaceful retreat where residents can enjoy the outdoors and take a break from their studies.
